An interdisciplinary cross faculty initiative
Attending Faculties: Engineering, Medicine, Science, Business, Art & Design
The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers at UNSW who can solve complex data analysis problems, with researchers who would like better methods to analyse their data.
During the first half of the session, UNSW medical researchers will give a short presentation of their data analysis challenges, followed a five minute Q & A session. It will also include a presentation by Prof Paul Bourke (EPICentre) on the challenges in Data Visualisation. After lunch UNSW data analysts from a variety of disciplines will then give short presentations based around the types of problems presented by the medical researchers.
If you would like to attend, please email: Katherine.yeh@unsw.edu.au
Talks on Data Analysis Challenges will be held in the morning. Some talk titles include:
* Data fusion challenges in Neuro imaging
* Statistical inference from Single Molecule and Single Cell Systems Microscopy Data: Clustering; Causation; Machine Learning and more
* Computational challenges in pharmacoepidemiology using big data
* Grand Challenges in Data Visualisation
The program is still being finalised, but if you indicate your interest in attending Katherine will email it to you.
