Heat traces - asymptotic and exact expansion

Abstract: 

In my talk I will exploit the Mellin transform and the theory of general Dirichlet series to explain the interplay of the heat trace of an unbounded positive operator with its spectral zeta function. I will establish general conditions under which an asymptotic expansion of the heat trace exists and discuss its convergence of the expansion. The general theory will be illustrated with a number of geometrically motivated examples.
