The School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW runs an annual one-day workshop for senior female high school students (years 10 - 12), with the aim of demonstrating the breadth of study and career options available in the fields of mathematics, statistics and data science.
During the workshop, attendees participate in a maths carnival, hear from current students during an engaging panel discussion, and listen to inspiring invited speakers who open up about their careers. There are also sessions on the practicalities of uni life, including info on courses and degrees, applying for scholarships, and programs for talented students. Students also enjoy a tour of the UNSW Kensington campus, including a visit to an undergraduate mathematics lecture. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
This year's workshop will be held on Tuesday 4 August at The Roundhouse, UNSW (see map ref: E6 on the campus map).
